    Arrow Insured Value

My State Farm Agent explained this to me in similar terms when I inquired about possibly being shortchanged should I suffer a total loss. I can’t get collector’s insurance anyway as I read where one must park the insured car inside a secure garage - that leaves me with conventional auto insurance for the time being.

Some Auto Insurers have recently offered ACV +20% for an additional premium.

I don't know if SF is offering. Couldn't hurt to ask.

Not true, Hagerty recently changed U/W rules to allow for driveway parking on vehicles less than $30,000 (I have to ck to see if this is correct value amount) in value.

Collector car just can't be your only car, you have to have a year round daily driver. Call them and see if your car qualifies.

Also, make sure you have that in writing from your SF agent. That way when SF doesn't give you stated value you can collect from the agent's E&O policy.

My recommendation is stay away from standard auto policy carriers....those who insure every day daily drivers/vehicles.....They do not have the interest in the specialized vehicles, and if a claim should arise, you will definitely be at a disadvantage....Go with a specialized agency: JC Taylor, Hagerty, and several others.....Only they truly understand & have experience in specialized vehicles....

My yearly policy with Haggerty is $856 for full coverage on the Marauder with an agreed value of $25,000.

I park mine in the garage and have two other vehicles that are daily driven.

I just couldn't see spending more money for less coverage with my regular insurance company.

I know it will vary from state, I’m using Grundy , my agreed value is 45k and my last premium was $523. It was originally about $130 higher when I started the policy, but over time it has dropped, just as regular insurance does.

I am an insurance agent, own an agency and sell Hagerty and JC Taylor Antique/Modified/Collector car insurance.

As rules vary by state, call Hagerty to see if your car qualifies for coverage.

    - The above is the Actual Cash Value definition, aka ACV.

Stated Value typically is the MOST an insurance company will pay.

Ultimately it's your policy that determines. Read your policy or ask for a complete sample copy.

From my most recent communication from Hagerty:

    LOWER MINIMUM VALUES

    • We’ve lowered the minimum vehicle value requirements for all stock cars and trucks to $3,500, regardless of the vehicle’s age.
    • We’ve lowered the minimum vehicle value requirements for Lowriders, Pro-Street and Exotic Replicas to $15,000.

    STORAGE CHANGES*

    • We’ve increased the maximum value for vehicles stored in a driveway to $50,000.
    • We’ve increased the maximum value for vehicles storedin a carport to $100,000.

There are other underwriting rules so you will need to call to see if your vehicle will qualify.

    Good luck!
