    Question Whipple

If alot of cobras with eaton superchargerers are changing over or upgrading to whipples, Why can't we go with a whipple fron the start?? On another site they say we can't use a whipple on a stock motor.True???

IIRC, Jerry told me that certain parts had to be modified on the twin screw to make it work for the MM. I know the blower plate will need to be fabbed, as well as an adapter plate for the intake on the rear. I think he also said something about the snout length needing modified, but not 100% sure on that.
I LOVE Jerry's bar, it's my kinda place...........

You can put a Whipple on. But you have to get all the rest of the Eaton swap parts too.
Thanks to Darrin @ BC Automotive:
$1800 and it was worse than when he started!

    ^^^^^ what Fordnut said ^^^^^

One of the attractive aspects of the Eaton swap is lower cost (usually under $5,000, all-in). An Eaton M112 blower will cost you somewhere around $300 used, a new Whipple blower is prolly gonna cost between $4,000 - $5,000, plus the ancillary parts required to install it on your car. But other than the cost issue, it could certainly be done.

For bolt-on and drive, the Trilogy kit is still the best option on the market, IMO.

If you stick with a whipple upgrade for an 03/04 cobra and get the rest of the Eaton swap parts, not a prob.

Has anyone tried a Whipple kit designed for a MACH I?
Essentially the same engine, so I would think this would be a complete bolt in except for the passenger's side intake/battery relocate.

    Is there such a kit?

I know the KB kit for Mach 1 uses a single belt for everything, similar to the centrifugals. That can be problematic.

Besides being able to move air more efficiently/less parasitic drag with their twin screw design, the Eatom M112 is 112 cid or 1.83l. You can put a 2.3l to 4.0l, more effiecient, whipple on.
