AC compressor GRANADED, shrapnel in lines- Advice?

AC compressor granaded, blew 1.5 inch whole out of its casing. Couldn't see it until removed, as it was on inside (toward engine) portion.

Metal pieces in filter. Ran four quarts of thrush (flush through system) till it ran clean.

Replaced everything with full kit, dryer, hoses and the $180.00 manifold line.

Replaced Relay, and fuses thoughout system.

AC ran cold for an hour, and then ran warm. Compressor stopped engaging (turning on).

Air moves as directed to floor, defrost, vent, etc... Blower moves air as it should. Just not cold.

    Advice?

The orifice filter may have clogged with debris.

Evacuate, replace orifice filter and receiver drier, recharge and test.

You did all that work and didn't replace the less than $3.00 orifice tube?

Replace the orifice tube, replace the receiver dryer, replace the condenser, replace the compressor (most companies will NOT warranty the compressor unless the orifice tube, condenser and receiver dry is replaced at the same time as the compressor). I'd also replace all the o-rings in all the connections.

Sorry, yes all above replaced as well. Marty offered (and I shared with the highly skilled mechanic) that sometimes the NEW compressor internal switches do not work properly, and after checking all connections and grounds (as advised by all above) etc, Marty advised "not to be supervised if R&R of brand new installed compressor fixes the issue."

Mechanic re-did everything advised above, checked the compressor, replaced it... And everything worked perfectly.

Thank you all for the info and advice. It was all deployed toward the solution! Knock on wood, car blows cold!

PSand special thanks to Marty, for always offering sage advice, advice that has always led to the fix.
