Since the plant closes during the month of July, I may have one of the last 2003s built. It's a Silver Birch built 6/24/2003 VIN #714090.
Anyone have a later build date for a 2003 or a higher VIN #?

There's a couple guys here that can run your VIN,.. RoyLPita and Jefferson-Mo are the 2 that leap right to mind. Send either one a PM and they'll sqaure you away!

Oh yeah,.. here's the info on the ragged out MM sitting at one of the local used car lots:

2003 Mercury Marauder. 42K miles
Build date:7/19/02
Start date:4/22/03
vehicle has no recalls or CA/NY/MA emmissions
OASIS shows no Ford extended or maintenance policies for this MM
Warranty repair history (full):
North Park Lincoln Mercury
10/25/02 @ 32 miles
repositioned left e-brake shoe (improper assy)
5/26/03 @ 3445 miles
replaced steering wheel (coming apart on right side)
readjusted shifter cable (difficulty getting into reverse)
8/12/03 @ 7827 miles
repainted front bumper assy (peeling paint)

btw- the front bumper paint is completely peeled off again in one spot,.. nice repaint!..

Sounds like a keeper. I'm at the other end of the spectrum with the earliest build date in the club. Roy L Pits states mine is one the first MM's built. My VIN ends with 600045 - built March 2002.

Isn't car trivia fun? Ironic how two cars can be built over a year apart and still be the same model year. Interesteing stuff.

The window sticker date is about 1-2 weeks earlier than the true build date.
