An observation and some advice, FFIW....
Unfortunately I have to sit this one out, but I am quite familiar with all that goes into planning our annual national meet,
Marauderville, having been part of the MVIX planning committee and attending past Maraudervilles. One thing I wonder as I read the MV threads is whether members understand what a huge undertaking it is to put one of these large, important events together. Do members realize that it is vital to the success of any Marauderville to register their intent to participate, and pay the nominal registration fee, whether they plan to participate in one or all of the daily planned activities, and how important it is for members living close to the event to support it, if at all possible. It won't work well to have members who haven't officially registered but decide to pop in on one event or another, so to speak, or plan to do other things instead of what the planners have worked hard to arrange.
An accurate head count, and payment for registration, are things that the planners of this event are counting on in order to figure costs and make arrangements at the various venues so that all goes smoothly and everyone can enjoy themselves. Even if you live close by or have seen and done some of the planned activities before, you haven't seen and done them as part of a group of Marauder enthusiasts, and you are missing out on a very unique and memorable experience if you don't jump in with both feet. So if you plan to participate in
any of this year's Marauderville....I hope you will give it your full support and go get yourself a room at the host hotel, get registered and go have a hell of a time!
