vacuum from intake manifold port to end of passenger side fuel rail?

It looks like this line , which is made of brittle thin plastic, runs from a passenger side port on the upper intake manifold to the gizmo at the end of the passenger side fuel rail (photos).
    I snapped it.
I'd rather not have to buy a entire new harness (photo). I suspect its a vapor recovery line - from fuel rail, back into the intake.
I taped it up using and electrical butt connector and some electricians tape ...but on 2nd thought, not a good idea I think.

Anyone have an idea on how to repair?

    Thanks
    KK

I went with this repair - 4mm id vacuum hose from Autozone, (2$/foot!), cut about a 3 inch piece and connected on each side of the snapped line, tie wrapped with small tie wraps on either end, then put some spiral line covering over the whole thing and taped it up a bit. Seems solid.

All that is is a vacuum line. Doesn’t matter how it’s hooked up so what you did is fine.

I’m all in to see how you used a butt connector on a vacuum line....

LOL, I know. Look at the pic with the gob of electricians tape. I stuck the two broken ends into either end of the butt connector (yellow size) and taped it up. I was tired I guess.

I fix them like this. Take off the rubber elbow. Use pliers to breakup the plastic hose that is in the elbow. Remove all the plastic pieces. Install a barbed straight vacuum connector into the elbow. Use a piece of rubber vacuum hose to connect the barbed fitting to the remaining plastic hose. The barbed fitting come in different sizes.
