    Hololulu Police Black Marauder

I was watching the news on KMBG 9 from Honolulu and they had a black MM police car with a blue light bar on top. It had a small wing and some HPD officers ude their own cars on duty. It looked pretty good too.

Didn't Sgtmac sell one of his to someone in Hawaii?

I just saw over on the Charger Forum that Hawaii police officers own their own cars they patrol in. They get $600 a month plus gas I believe the author of the post said and he was an active LEO there. He was driving a civilian Charger R/T with a "removable" roof light bar, and all kinds of crap attached to the center console. Couldn't understand why he didn't just buy the hemi Police Charger which is already set up to have all the equipment in the police console, why hack up an R/T?
Can you imagine the liability those officers are absorbing using their own vehicles? I wonder if their insurance carriers know what the "owners" are doing?

Mac sure wasn't shy about letting people take KB1 out for a test ride.I was offered the chance to drive it whenever I wanted but I refused as at the time I didn't have a MM to let him use as a loaner while it was getting fixed if I wrecked it or blew it up.
Heck,I remember when he had his first MM and when he sold it cheap to Car Max to get the KB1 and a guy in TX had his original shipped down there to buy it.

The PD pays for the insurance, veh tax is waived, you get 1 gal of gas for every 12 miles you drive, and you can get a couple of quarts of oil a month if you need it, and you are allowed to buy a car that is on an approved list, and you can use the car for up to 11 yrs if you want.
So if your car is payed off early, you just pocket the $600., a month!!

Having been directly involved in a couple of federal lawsuits, (thank god as a witness only), involving police vehicle accidents resulting in death of multiple people, (families with young children), the bottom feeders, (lawyers), went after everyone. Federal laws regarding soverign immunity and limits on government liabilty fortunately prevented the sympethetic juries from going into eight, nine and ten digit awards, but with a privately owned vehicle, registered to the officer himself, all that protection goes away, no matter what type of insurance you have.

I hear ya! I was a little apprehensive when he asked, but that would have been the only time cuz it was heading to Hawaii.
