First thing I would do if I owned that car I would have my Insurance man there immediately!!!!!!!! To a insurance company thats nothing but a mercury motor and unless you make special arrangements like a Hagerty or someone they'll never give you whats it's worth. I have seen a lot of motors and eventually they start to look all the same but this is really a jewel! If I owned it I would'nt care if it went 15 second mile runs it wouldn't matter, in fact I don't think I'd even race it just put it in show's!
I hope you can bring it to Louisville in april and we can push Dooms car up a little and you can have the other half in front of the Hotel. Right accross from Pony's bucket!

Well my mods started with suspension first! Metco control arms/watts link, addco front(moog end links) and rear sway bars

Baer 14" big brakes, rear d/s rotors

Built rear axle Moser 31 splines, Auburn pro series diff, Ford 4:10 gears, Mag hytech rear end pan/cover

Original trans with Circle D tripple disc converter 3K stall speed, Forced tail shaft lube mod, Mag Hytech double deep trans pan

Last mod will be Willwoods on all four corners, and maybe a Gearvendors! i like the idea of a 8 speed automatic:rolleyes: See my Garage for a complete Bio of mods!

Yeah i love the way it turned out!

Did you have to redrill for the mounting bolt pattern?

Fourtunately no , its the same bolt pattern I even made a cardboard template to be sure, had to cut the billet arm at a 65* angle or so due to the bolt pattern orientation of the cobra hat, but I think it is the best way to put a serious fuel system in a Marauder, next up are dual FPDMs and heavy gauge wire!

When i did my fuel hat I had gotten the same kind but from lethal...
Obviously doesn't fit right so I returned & modded the stock... fuel hat was not cheap...
I only use 2 GT fuel pumps & 2 FPDM's with oversized wiring all redone... straight from battery in trunk to fpdm's then seperate oversized wires down to each Fuel pump individually.

I like your solution... I upgrasded the internal to tanjk fuel lines like u did too I come out of hat w/ 2 seperate lines then use a div x 2-1 fuel block to bring both pumps into one line outside tank & into the oversized fuel pump & lines

Looks fantastic - great parts all the way! One thing I didn't see that you'll need is a good transmission cooler, 3000 stall plus lots of of HP is going to make some heat - even with the Deep trans pan you have. At least get a gauge or get a ScanGuage II so you can monitor transmission temperatures. Hate to see you cook your trans first week out of the gate.

These units are very good! (Only another $170) :D

IMPRESSIVE!:D
Belt alignment is critical. One washer makes the difference. At operating temp everything expands and can change the alignment.
Trial and error is the only way to get it true. You need a tech with patience and determination.
I also rec you divert the blow off with a 90* elbow. If it blows straight down the dust will clog your filter in short order over heating your S/C.

Cause i luv the sound of the "Big red blow off valve" Procharger makes the best blow off valve IMO ,My MAF is a SCT 5000 slot style MAF.

Blow thru setups are typically vented to the atmosphere, while Draw thru setups are recirculated to the intake.

Oem studs are your best option! stage8 bolts are overrated ive used them in the past there ok, on the headers theres not room for most of the stage8s due to newer design the bends are much tighter to clear the steering shaft (which has a ton of clearance.

This is awesome news! I know we've all been waiting a long time to see the numbers. Can't wait to see what she pulls! Good luck tomorrow man.

Also, please don't think about selling until after Louisville 2014. Need to have you take my wife for a ride like doom did last year to help convince her I need boost.

MOTOWN
11-08-2013, 07:54 PM
Well we made a few pulls tonight and ran into massive belt slip! lol the motor is a beast but due to the belt slip issue we couldnt get anymore than 9lbs of boost.

The car could only make 450rwhp @ 9psi @5k rpm and after that all you could see was a black cloud of belt dust! lol

i will be the first to admit Jeff told me to go with a 3 blot tensioner/timing cover, i stuck with the single bolt tensioner (timing cover), and well i hate to say he told me so.......but he did!

The power is clearly there to hit and pass 700rwhp once the belt slip issue is addressed, which by going to the three bolt timing cover it will give me 100% belt wrap around the crank pulley (balancer) and eliminate the belt slip, on the single bolt timing cover only half of the actual balancer makes contact with the belt, which is my issue for now.

I was happy to see it made far more torque than hp, somewhere in the 500 range i think, i was distracted thinking of the parts i need to fix this isssue, oh well the madness continues!

Funny thing is like Jeff said that blower hadnt even started to work yet!

what make and part number pulley are you using on the right to take up the slack on the long end of the belt by the water pump? I'm currently using a normal oem looking deal that just happened to fit, and I'd like something better looking.

Thats a Thump 70mm double bearing pulley, the single bearing 70mm will work as well.
