It should be between #6020 (12 November 2002) and #6180 (9 December 2002). Far too many VIN and data points missing from the list to place it any closer.

The old Jan '06 VIN list puts it closer to 3 December 2002 and probably nearer to #6100.

Based on those dates, I would say that it is NOT a 300A and the fact that you say it has TC so that points to a 300B as well.

It was built slightly later than 2 December 2002 and MAY contain a mix of 300A and 300B features. Sequence number is likely in the early # 6100's.

Hi,

Just realized this was a "new" database.

Anyway Not wanting to dig out my certificate I called the ford motorsports number. They gladly gave me the build sequence number but said the color sequence was only available with the purchase of the certificate. Anybody else getting this these days?

One day I will unearth the cert and post up.

You should double check the build date. I think it should be 06/04/2002 since #499 is a real early 300A build. A date of 06/04/2003 would put it near the end of the 2003 run. Maybe a typo ??

Build number is what I asked for actually which is what 5822 of 7838 is. Build date on the door is October 2002. I can call them again tomorrow to double check but the guy on the phone seemed pretty sure as we went over the numbers twice.

Those are generally for boosted cars, boost gauge, iat gauge, air/fuel wideband, fuel pressure etc.

but you can add whatever gauges you want, you don't have have boost. there is a company that makes 2 and 3 gauge pods that screw into the factory ones, it does not replace it and they come color matched

My son now owns the oldest Marauder in the club. I sold it to him in 2006 or so (working from memory here). It's in my garage as I write this and is still in beautiful condition. - never been hit or abused (except for a few 1/4 mile passes) . He does have a certificate from Ford - which I will get a copy of and post here. I'll get some current pictures as well.

The VIN and build date are listed below from the club's spreadsheet.

As you can see, the VIN ends in 60045. There was some question early on whether the VINs were sequential. I think it's been found they are. When I bought the car (in CY 2004 I think) I began to notice things like the Red 4PP tags on the frame (he still has those). Also - they early cars have different exhaust baffles and some other small differences. Ford Motor Company certified it as the real McCoy. We have the history of the car from Roy L. Pita and Carfax. Ford owned the car for the first 5,990 miles then sold it. It's a family keeper.

I attached a few documents. 1 is a picture of me driving the car at Milan dragway (Milan, Michigan), the others are summaries of information I have on file.

The certificate has always been handled through Fordshowparts and has always cost $45. Might have been a small discount originally when Motor City set it up years ago, no longer.

If you call the web site depending on who answers they might tell you the number. Have your vin ready,

I was told (or thought for some reason), that it was #54, and supposedly that it was the only Marauder built in April of 2002. -- now we know more.

Does being #48 make it a pre-production Marauder? I think it was driven out west, as it was serviced (before or during the dealer introduction) in KS, or CA, or somewhere like that. My local dealer bought it from Ford/Mercury in some sort of used/demo/factory official/dealer only sale.

He sent me a pic of his certificate, so his color sequence is correct. Sometimes I think Ford makes up these numbers just to make us feel better. When I got my first certificate, the color name was dark pearl blue, not the correct dark blue pearl. They did it on Wavy’s certificate too.

Going forward, I would prefer people follow the prescribed format (in post 1) as it guarantees that interior color is added. The certificate, while proving the numbers being accurate, does not have all of the necessary information.

First owner (2004-2006) lived in Mio, MI, second owner (2006-2018) lived in Harrisville, MI and I purchased this immaculate, no rust, low mileage example on March 30th of this year. Has the LF interior, every option sans spoiler, no factory installed moonroof (I had a Signature moonroof installed, successor to ASC). Has doughnut spare, CD changer, trunk organizer and heated seats. Car runs and drives beautifully.

Just WOW!!! on the early build number. Read where the first assembly line Terminator Cobras were built in May.

I have owned and my son now owns what I think is the earliest Marauder on the list from MM.net. It was built in March of 2002 and is a 4PP (Pre- Production car. We have the two 4PP stickers, one was on each side of the frame near the rear axle).

The exhaust tips are different, as they all were on the first few MMs built (I don't remember what the difference is now). The car has never been hit - at least in the 14 years my son and I have owned it. Looks good, runs great. Stored in a heated garage since I bought it in 2005. Have the bright red 4PP stickers that were on the rear frame.

Finally got my Certificates,
03 Black, DC, 300A, bought 6/26/02 (OH updated their software, my 14 year old tune no longer passes, needed certificate to qualify for collector plates)
04 Black, Flint, MoonRoof, HS, 6CD
