I finally got the correct fittings for my trans cooler and got that back together on my blue mm, today im going to drop the fuel tank on my black mm to change the evap hose the runs above it.... I am dreading doing this.
If you don't mind me asking, how do you know that your evap hose needs replacement? Just curious what symptoms led you to it.
Thanks

I keep getting keep getting a code for a gross leak/no flow in the evap system, and sometimes a check fuel cap code..... its not the fuel cap as I've tried 3. The rubber parts of my evap line were heavily deteriorated.

Went over to Gordon's Garage today with my dad and we installed drilled & slotted rotors, new ceramic pads, ss brake lines and put my old blue calipers back on from my old Marauder.
Unfortunately when taking the rear drivers side rotor off looks like my emergency brake shoe was warped/melted onto the inside. After banging the rotor off with a sledgehammer, bits and pieces off the bottom shoe fell out. I'm going to have to start a thread in the brake forum. Anyone ever replace the shoes before? Are they Marauder specific or is it similar to a grand maq or crown Vic?
Anyways I won't be using my e brake until I replace the shoes. In the meantime, the new brakes are doing great!

Looks nice just wish the slots in the rotors were cut all the way to the outside lip.
But yes had the same issue with the rear drum brakes had to change them out as well when I did mine.
Funny I only use the e-brake once a year to test it just in case but still feel the need to make sure they are okay.

That's what happens if you don't use the parking brakes all the time. They freeze up and you have problems getting the rotors off.

Fixed my ac! It's been out for 2 weeks I tried a new motor then ordered the wrong parts which for the manual ac type instead of automatic. Switched head control units from my dads merc into mine. Then tried banging on the automatic climate control unit which turned it on a smidge. Then finally gave in talked to my friends at ford $82.00 later got a new ac climate control unit which he told me often goes on these. Then got it all cleaned and purdy

I do. I still wiped the entire car down with a spray detailer / sealent when done. Also this car sits under a cover and you could tell it was basically clean at the begining.
I used Chemical Guys products...
1) Honeydew Snow Foam
2) Extreme Body Wash and Wax
3) Glossworkz

They're easy, just do one side at a time. So you can always use the other side as a reference.

Last night I pulled off the wiper cowl to clean it and cleaned off the block to chassis ground connection, had a little bit of green corrosion on the bolt and sanded off the paint so there is now a true metal to metal connection.

Got an email request last evening from a town with a MUCH bigger and better parade asking me to drive their Grand Marshall.
Thought about it:
1) I have no written agreement or even a handshake with the first town
2) all we have is an email agreement
But, when you make a commitment, you stand by it.
Just learned yesterday that the Governor of NJ will be marching in the parade I turned down.
I imagine that the projected attendance level of that parade just went up while the one I'll be in with the Galaxie (assuming I can change a leaking pwr steering pressure hose today) just went down.

Speaking of "The British Are Coming", has anyone caught the Italian/Fiat commercial ("The Italians are Coming").
There are three VERY attractive models in that commercial, and I don't mean Fiats.
Another good commercial for female model viewing, the Skyy Vodka commercials.

I did not sell her! I've had her parked in my front yard for awhile due to the "Mango Tree" over my driveway. I was out in the yard with the kids when a guy on a 2013 Harley Road King stop and and asked me about the car. After BS-ing for a few he asked if I wanted to sell her. I replied do you have deep pockets? He said how about $13,000.00.... I looked at my wife and she said, Nope your getting buried in that thing. Needless to say I filled the guy with information and sent him on his way. I love my Marauder!!!

That never happened during my 5 years of owning my Crown Victoria. One individual told me that there was a first gen Marauder there before I showed up. Going to try and park next to it when I go again. Another guy came up to me and said "My buddy put the Marauder top end into his crown vic, it's a PI so it all bolted right up" I just kinda nodded and said yup, sure, uh huh, you don't say?

What is the model vehicle directly to the right of your Marauder? Looks like a Grand National, but not exactly sure.
One another note: That is a pet peeve of mine: the lowest strip on the side of your cars. Seems to get ultra dirty/grimy without relief. Scrub and scrub and still looks like S.
A lift would help solve that issue as the problem is getting enough elbow grease into the project to make a difference, I suppose.

I know it's non poisonous. It was a catch 22 of sorts. Either I catch the thing, relocate it and deal with some rodents and insects or listen to my father, my mother and my brother scream every time they see it or think they see it.
If it was my house, it would have a place to live as long as it wants to.
Casey, I successfully relocated it this morning after finding a suitable habitat a couple towns over. I don't think it would ship very easily in the middle of the summer.

1. Changed the oil.
2. Replaced the headlight buckets and replaced the stock bulbs with Sylvania Ultra's. Went pretty easy, just had to loosen the side light bolt and the grille nuts.
3. Replaced the wiper motor. Read the threads and pulled the cowl. Wow it was really clogged up with crud. Found the wiper arm keeper key was never installed from the factory. Found it rusted and laying in the cowl. Cleaned it up and put it in it's rightful place.
With this government furlough, I have extra time on my hands. (a lot less money but the extra day is putting a dent in my to do list)

This weekend I installed new parking brake shoes because my old ones disintegrated when I took my rotors off a couple weeks ago. I noticed my SS brake lines were rubbing on my passenger side so I took the line off and realigned the braid. But I then had to bleed my brakes. Gravity bleeding didn't really go the way I wanted. I still had mushy brakes.
Today I went over to my buddy's house and helped him wash his Challenger, then we bled my car and so much easier with another person.
Here's a question: since I only took off the rear passenger side brake line, do I need to bleed all 4 wheels? I bled the rear wheels only, but I'm not sure if I need to bleed everything. I'll ask this question in the brake forum.

It is best to bleed out the entire system and make sure it is all clean fluid and not a single bubble in it. You never know if a bubble worked it's way up into the distribution chamber as bubbles flow up the fluid line not down.

At 1 1/4 coils off of the front you will be ok on the bump stops - they are on the shafts for the shocks up front. As they settle down, watch the fender liner/wiring harness on the passenger front. It will break/wear through the liner and rub the harness.
Looks nice, drop the rear a little more too!!

The 1 1/4 cut should net you a little more drop than that. You may have to loosen the control arm bushings while you have the weight of the car on the springs to get the full drop. Wheels off & jacks/stands or blocking under the lower control arms - do both sides at the same time or disconnect the sway bar to do one at a time. Don't forget to tighten the control arms back up!!
When you do get it dropped you may find you need the offset camber adjustment bolts on the lower control arms - I did.

I was going to order those camber bolts later today as I didn't even check the alignment as I knew I would still be adjusting things.
I am curious about the control arm bolts tho... Worth a shot.
Was the install of the new camber bolts a PITA?

Was the install of the new camber bolts a PITA?
Not real bad. There are some online videos of the procedure.
The boots have to slide off the ends of the rack, the rack gets unbolted and bungeed up out of the way.
I did it on jack stands in the driveway & used a cordless drill w/the rotary cutter. I'm and old, fat and slightly arthritic and it was less than half a day from wheels up to wheels down!

Fixed my passenger side window that was stuck 3/4 of the way down.
After some bad diagnostic work and a few choice words the window is working. The drivers side switch did not seem to be getting power so I replaced that, $120 and the window still did not work :(
Went into the passenger side door. The door panel came off reasonable well. Tried some percussive maintenance and it worked. Tried it again and it did not. Cleaned the connection to the motor and it works fine. Put everything back together and had no extra parts. Best of all it is faster than before.
Probably will have a new rattle, but at least the window goes up and down.

I dropped my car to the body shop yesterday for a new paint job & headlight restoration. I had paid a little extra $$ to have the headlights, corner lights, rear tail lights & the valance panel on the trunk lid {license plate pocket panel} removed prior to any paint work & installed afterwards. The hood, roof & trunk lid was repainted once before under warranty from Ford (typical paint problem with 300A Marauders :shake:) with the previous owner, but I didn't think they did a real good job at it. It should be ready in a week.

So, I spent a great deal of time yesterday and today sanding, priming, and painting all the individual jack parts. What a PITA, but it looks much better now than the old scratched/rusty look.
Next, pulling the instrument cluster, repainting it (satin black), and replacing the plastic/chrome bezels around the speedo and temp/gas gauges.

The hangers are about 4" too short to reach the rubber hangers!!!!!!!! needless to say ill be giving Stainless works a call in the A.M. at this price point for a custom kit this is unacceptable.

Mostly hitting the right side watts link. Also weirdly enough, the exhaust must really swell! I would get a constant banging/rubbing sound near the trunk, but only after 10 minutes of run time? Upon inspection I seen the clamp was rubbing on the trunk floor? I knew I didn't install it that close. Next day I went out to adjust it and found it moved forward nearly 1/2"! Started it up and checked it after 10 minutes, started rubbing again. Complete cool down and again it had plenty of clearance. I never would have thought the exhaust system would expand and contract that much. I simply rotated the clamp so the bolt wouldn't hit anymore and no more issues.
But yes, the hangers REALLY need to be longer and the X pipe was a bear to keep straight at the front and the rear portion really should have more of an elevation change along with a few more degrees to keep the muffs away from the driveshaft. I had to wedge 2 X 4s between the driveshaft and muffs to maintain some kind of separation before I cranked the clamps down.
I have done hundreds of exhaust systems over the years and never had any issues like all this. I had to tweak that X pipe pretty good! At least the headers were spot on perfect.
