Washed and detailed out the silver. Put two more coats of wax on it. Took him out for a spirited drive. Surprised a kid in a (wip) mustang, as I pulled away from him thrice.
touched up all the black trim with Meguires Black Trim detail lotion. Seemed to really soak in and turn the trim deep black.

I like the long euro plate MGDriver, it looks great!
^^+1 long plate looks good.
Ditto on the long plate....looks cool
How does it fit on the rear ? pics please ;)
It actually surprises me that you favour the look of the Euro plate but then again I suppose it's a unique look for you to see whilst I see these everywhere which makes it a tad boring to look at.
On the rear I also have a motorcycle plate because a long plate wouldn't physically fit in the bracket. For the front however the authorities issued me a long plate because there is clearly enough space for it but since I work in the license plate industry I have my own ways for these things so I got myself another motorcycle plate to match with the rear plate and retain the original American look.

Reconnected the battery and started my Galaxie. Even took a quick ride around the neighborhood.
With the winter weather (more cold than snow in North Jersey), she's been sitting for over a month.
After some serious accelerator pumping, she kicked right over.
Snow blowing at 9 AM; driving on clear roads by 2 PM. Amazing what a little bit of sun and warmer temps can do.

The exhaust shop got most of it out... I could still hear an intermittent rattle, I'll probably drop the whole exhaust when it warms up so I could hold it vertically and shake it out. good thing I have flanges a the headers and behind the mufflers to make removal easy.

Took the Fusion to my buddy's exhaust shop, last Friday I had him remove the resonator and first muffler but still very quiet. So Today he removed the mufflers and since his original idea of a single-in/dual-out Flowmaster Super 10 muffler wouldn't work we with Jones resonators in place of the mufflers. Wow the stock mufflers were ungodly restrictive, engine makes a real nice exotic almost Supra sound now. Will have to make one more trip back for him to tune out the drone around 2k rpms when cruising with a custom made resonator where the stock one original was.

F150 giving me grief... Today took care of the LF wheel hub bearing that started puking on me last week.
3 weeks ago starter quit. -2000* outside & stuck on my back in the garage changing it. Heater made it just tolerable temp in the garage. Boy that sucked...
2 weeks ago starter again... defective new part, was dead the morning after it was installed. 35* and sunny but on my back in the snow out in the driveway. That sucked...
Can't complain about the parts, 170,000 miles on it and runs like a top. Timing just sucks... :shake:

The Jag hits 160 mph on the Autobahn before the factory limiter kicks in, should be relatively easy to remove it though... next time. The Marauder does 140 mph but there's no video footage of that just yet.

Sounds great - quoted for awesomeness. Post one up of the MM sometime. If you have a tune you can remove the MM limiter as well, although be careful of the driveshaft/tailshaft as this will push it past the safe zone especailly with 3.90 gears once you go past 110..

Shout out to Marauder410 who sold me the stock CAI for a reasonable/helpful/affordable price almost 2 years ago. THANK YOU MARAUDER BROTHER! It has been on the car twice... For a few days only each time... BUT IT HAS BEEN VITAL to low stress and CA SMOG happiness.

Then had a small heart attack. After driving it around with the stock CAI, and parking in my driveway... The beast would not start. After a few minutes of panic, and then after triple checking EVERYTHING, I got out the super thick gage jumper cables, and pulled "Bain's" little brother up alongside and jumped him.
Started right up.
Found that I'd left a cell phone car charger inserted in the center consol (it has a small light built into it hat stays on) the last 4weeks, and so I went inside and yelled, "honey the Prowler needs a jump" in my best FARGO impression, and told my lovely wife that I needed to drive around for an hour or two to charge the battery.
Got a 2 hour cruise out of the deal-had so much fun keeping the RPM's up for two hours!

This post would fit more into the category of "what has your car done to you" but I'm gonna throw it in here anyway.
On Friday after work I decided to give it a wash and then even put the effort in to polish it up because I had a date scheduled on Saturday so I wanted it to look shiny. As I was on my knees polishing the rear passenger door I noticed a faint smell of fuel, checked under the car but saw nothing and quickly forgot about it thinking my mind was playing tricks. Finished the cars polish and then went out to take a couple of photos with it in the evening. As I had it ideling out in the fields and took pictures the smell of fuel came back, stronger than before. I checked again and now saw a small puddle under the rear passenger door so laying under the car I noticed a leak in the fuel line just behind the fuel filter. I went home and replaced the short bit of line from the filter to the fuel rail, problem solved and it was fine after I went for another drive.
On the next morning as I wanted to leave for my date I started the car and immediately smelled fuel, it was now pissing out of the line behind the fuel filter. No way I was going to drive those 50 miles with it like that and I was hard pressed on time so I couldn't check what the problem was, instead just jumped in my Audi which looks disgusting and has a ton of rubbish in it and went on the date with that. Luckily it still went surprisingly well and I will be seeing her again next weekend but I won't forgive the Marauder for letting me down like that for a while so it'll have to work hard to bring back my faith in it.
Back to the actual problem, I briefly inspected it on Sunday and I can't exactly make out where it's leaking exactly but I believe it's the connection between the filter and line. Since I've already replaced the line I suppose it can only be the filter now, I don't know long the current filter has been in there but it looks quite old and I suppose one should replace it regularly anyway so I've ordered a new one which cost me $35 shipped from the states, not too bad I thought.
Now here's where I need your advise, what is involved to swap the filter and how difficult is it going to be? The pain of owning an exotic car over here is that you can't take it to a shop when there's something wrong because they won't touch it so I'll have to do these things on my own. Thanks for your help in advance!

Should have asked before I ordered, that looks like a useful upgrade! Where would I go about to order the 3'' filter that he made still? Is there some form of a step by step write up on how to do the swap as I'm still very new to working on these cars just trying to learn my way into them.

Today I did the SS inserts in silver matalic, new wiper arms and blades, replaced cluster bezal with one that was not cracked, new o-rings in the EATC, removed an aftermarket sloppy looking Sony to my pioneer with the kit...looking smooth and installed the K&N cold air intake which I noticed right away when I took it around the block. I also installed a new Mercury badge on front grille and smoked license plate cover (not too dark)...

Sounds like a good day to me! I've recently been overhauling a lot of little things here and there on Black Ice.
In the past month 3 weeks I've done EATC o-rings, fuel filter upgrade, cleaned the air filter, LED bulbs in the cluster gauge pod, and cleaned the IAC and MAF. Feels good!

Nothing to really say? The contacts in my 1 1/2 year old DB electrical starter disintegrated internally and the hot side contacted the case and bam instant rolling smoke poured out of the hood at a traffic light. It was so bad I figured I melted the harness but luckily the terminal melted off. And yes I use a heat shield.
Crappy cheap plastics used was the culprit. Not the first Ford starter I've seen do this. As a matter of fact my F150 5.4 currently has a crooked post on the trigger wire indicating the internals have already begun to disintegrate.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, the plan is to remove the door panel and clean the connector at the motor before I spend $30 for a new one at Rock Auto. The switch is fairly new and I can hear it click so I know it has power. The window has stopped before but came back online quickly. We'll see.
I also suspect the starter solenoid. I'm going to check the connections to make sure they are tight. Car started fine this morning. Did it twice yesterday. I also use a heat shield since I have headers. I did buy a budget starter when my OEM one fried, but it has done fine for @ 3 years or so....
I hate getting to that 3rd bolt on the starter. PITA.

I never had or seen a bad connection at the motor. It's always the switch for me. I just take the rocker switch off and clean the black char mark that's always there. You'll hear the mechanical part clicking but the current going thru the contacts is another story.
Best of luck!

I suspect this is what is going on with mine, sometimes it will not roll up, have to wiggle the switch a bit then it goes. I'll have to clean it.

I guess it could be the switch. I already took it off and plugged it back in. No change. Didn't clean it. I'll try that. Switch is one of those cheap knock offs....2nd one actually. The express down sometimes stops 2" from the bottom. So I bought a second one. Same thing. I know I can get an oem for $75.

Switch looks fine. I dunno. Going to order another cheapie for $15 shipped. Just can't stomach spending $75.
Scratch that. Found a new OEM one on ebay from a private seller for $75 shipped. It's only money....:(
No starting issues today. Maybe it had something to do with the hood being off for the last couple weeks and exposed to rain....
