Everyone keeps giving me grief at the rear spoiler!!

Got it sitting in the box already painted!!! Goes on Monday hopefully!

question: did you lower the front and rear???

And as for the spoiler..... mine is painted and ready to install and sitting in my garage.... Hate to drill those holes.

I need to get my hood resprayed so was waiting to take it to body shop for both.

Front is lowered on QA1's. Rear with airbags and has QA1 shocks.

I need to get a good pic of it in flat ground. Quick pic from garage to show tire to fender height.

Been admiring some Marauder photo's and realized that every one that i liked had less tint or no tint at all. So I had my OLD TINT removed... and it looks BADASS.

I am going to wait a few weeks or months... and maybe have some better newer tint reinstalled. Car looks less tall, less bulky, and wider and flatter now that the 5% all the way around is out.

More photo's soon.

10-19-2013, 12:16 PM
i know they are not great photo's, but the tint was so dar (front windows were 5% too) that it felt like a video game screen to drive (especially at night) as the ONLY things you could see were through the front windshield.

Just now out on thee freeway it was AWESOME to be able to see!

lol, grief because we know it will make a big difference in appearance . After I bought my replacement it didn't have wing so until it was scheduled for paint shop to put mine on from totaled car I didn't drive it that much because it just looked incomplete. Out of paint, now in shop to get performance mods to include Eaton swap. they will also do my chin spoiler to make it complete.

Are you still using the stock mufflers?

fordmike65
10-27-2013, 08:28 AM
Yes, stock exhaust except for removing rear cats. I didn't realize how much cats cut down exhaust noise until a couple weeks ago when I unbolted the H-pipe from the cats and revved it up on the lift. I could totally run it cats only (no mufflers) and not piss off the neighbors! I really like the stock exhaust sound, just wanted it a little louder. Now it has just a little more rumble at idle, nice low tone when cruising, but a good noticeable roar when punched. Perfect for keeping our car's sleeper status.

Drove it to work. Strangely, I never thought of myself as a timid driver before, but I find myself being paranoid about being hit in the carpool lane. I commute down what HAS to be the busiest freeway in So Cal - The dreaded 91, all the way from Corona to Compton.

Cluster is still not in. Ran into some problems, and there's no way to put all the connections together without putting the cluster in place first.

Very little room under the dash... Just about everything has to be by "feel". There's about nine different bulbs plus leads to the GAS and TEMP gauge and another electrical connection.

Probably be a bit easier if the car didn't have a console.

Project turned into one PITA.

Well, I had planned to do it the next day, but it rained! So I replaced the original turn signal bulbs, and the side marker lights too. I honestly didn't even know there was a bulb there. It makes sense looking at it, but the bulbs were burnt out before I ever bought my MM. They're really freakin bright! I'd almost say they might look better in Amber, instead of clear.

Cluster's in. All instruments and dash/OIL/GEN/turn signal lights work.

One bad socket will not stay in place. Seems to connect, but then just pops out.

Have to jury rig something, because I can't put the bucketseat back in until the project's complete.

Well, this is more than just today, but recently I...

Had the car stripped to bare metal and repainted (original black, looks great; to cure the rust bubbles/bad primer)
Had an OEM rear spoiler painted and mounted (got tired of the box it came in sitting in my bedroom for the last couple years...)
Had them install the beautiful new Marauder-Supercharged rear emblem from Daniel (thanks again) and its beautiful, too
Got it detailed after the paint finished drying
Turned over 50,000 miles (all supercharged fun)
Got 23.3 mpg at 70-75 mph on a two lane highway with lots of passing (90+)
Got 22.2 at 80+ mph
(not bad for 4.10 gears putting 400 lb-ft to the rear wheels)
Enjoyed watching 6 or 7 employees at a time at the local Ford dealer surround the car with their cell phones out taking pictures of the car...

DAYUM I LOVE THIS CAR!!!
STILL.

Yesterday, got 14 hours of seat time in it.
Atlanta to the lower florida Keys.

Lost 2-3 mpg on way home. I will have to dig into that.
I can hear a whistling sound under the hood at around 2000 rpm under load only. Coasting in cruise control it is silent, as soon as my vacuum gauge starts heading towards 0 it starts whistling.

Looked for anything obvious (loose hoses, clamps etc.) on the way down.
Didn't find anything.

Our dealership just installed an auto wash with neoprene brushes. Supposedly hold NO dirt. We'll see.

Finished up my fog light repair today during lunch... soldered on a missing fog light connector, the dealership technician way. Solder, shrink wrap, tape, zip tie out of harm's way. Feels good to have properly functioning stock fog lights instead of cobbled together, epoxied in AutoZone crap that didn't even work.

1) Had the guys at Pennzoil do their T-Tech service to the tranny.
2) Then, had them drain and put new gear oil & friction modifier in the differential case.
3) I deleted that hideous air intake silencer appendage, and plugged the hole left by its absence with a homemade plastic cap and hose-clamp.
4) I also fashioned a sheet of cardboard covered with fire-retardant coating and wrapped in a heat-reflective covering to separate the heater fan box from the engine bay.

Thursday I had started the MM up and it was making a nasty metal grinding sound, pinpointed to be the smooth idle pulley. Went to Napa and picked up a new belt, smooth idle pulley and tensioner. Got home and the smooth idle pulley was not the correct one (90mm) when I needed a 76mm smooth one. Threw on the tensioner and also checked the grooved idle pulley which I figured I would replace as well since I could hear a little bearing noise in it. Will be picking up the correct smooth idle pulley and new groove one at lunch today and put them on when I get home tonight.

Saturday, took the MM out to stretch her legs, and noticed when looking under the hood that my intercooler reservoir had a very small leak.

Next to the upper inlet/outlet is a hair-line crack, so it will need to be replaced/upgraded.

Also considering going with a GT500 intercooler pump as it has a higher flow rate than the Cobra pump.

Of course, going to contact Colex for added bling for the reservoir cap.

Replaced my starter today because it did not SEEM to be engaging the flywheel. However, upon further inspection I discovered the starter was, indeed, turning the engine. The engine was spinning so very freely (no hint of any compression strokes) that the starter didn't even sound as if it were under a load. The timing chain had just recently been making some noise on start up, so I would say it appears my next post will be how I installed the Ford Racing timing chain kit...:censor:

Went to see & take pic of tranny, exhaust & gears install
That was 10/22/13, haven't posted all the small details since but since then I checked in on the Eaton swap install and other parts over past 1 1/2 months. Yesterday went to see GT 500 fuel pump install and see how close everything is to being finished , today went to see tuning during 2 dyno pulls. Its ready for me to bring home, be detailed and waxed before the going out and having a little fun.

Still laying in the hospital, just pulled catheter. That was a nice wake up... Tell ya the story later... Best of luck.

Twice, I've removed a C myself at home.

First time, they removed bladder stones (laser), and, second time, they lasered a prostate growth (non cancerous).

Both procedures were outpatient.

Fortunately, the prostate surgery corrected most of my problems, because I'm not looking forward to a third time.

Went to the local u-pull it and got a new DDM so I could have a working key fob. Found an '04 MGM and it worked like a charm. So much better. I'm now so good at pulling the door panel that I can have it on and off in under 5 minutes. Next fix: Make it so the EATC will select something other than the vents. Slowly but surely I'm fixing all of the electrical quirks. The last things left are the non-functioning rear defroster (fuses and relays are good) and the radio that won't lock on a radio station (I know....saving my pennies for a new double din unit).

Last night I took "Bain" (my boys named it), my spotless ride to have the oil changed. Brought my own syn Mobil 1 and Fram syn high flow oil filter... Guys wouldn't touch the car. Let me drive it into bay, asked me to start it after the oil change, and then had me drive it out.

Guy underneath said car was NEW and took10 extra minutes to clean up afterward.

I know this sounds (lame/untrue)... But I could tell, feel, hear the difference in their driveway!

Seriously... The motor, sounded so much better, felt so much stronger, ran so much smoother, I went home and waxed the hood again.

Taking it our for a romp today.
