Took the 03 to the dealership the other day to have the LCM replaced then they called and mentioned something about the relays so it would take an extra day. Get a call from them the next day saying it would go in gear....I knew they'd find a way to get money out of me lolololololo just for a diagnosis Hundred something odd dollars. Oh well the life of a Marauder owner.

I close on my new house in 2 weeks. Can't wait to be able to wax my car in my new 3 car garage out of the sun. Plus I have a **** load of new parts ready to install. I haven't driven the thing or even seen it in nearly 6 months. :(
Now I will get to see it everyday for the rest of my life nestled in parking space number 2.
WIN!
I feel a long overdue Chicago Meet coming on......

Had to remove the right side cam cover to access the BCM because I have an original DR rear cooling mod installed. Of course the hoses are in front of the BCM.
I figured I'd change the upstream O2 sensors. The swaps when OK. While under the MM I noticed that both upper control arm ball joint boots are torn. Also noticed that the right side motor mount was missing the nut. Waiting for Rock Auto to deliver the cam cover gaskets, new plugs (Autolite XP-103) and motor mount.
Will be ordering both upper and lower control arms, front shocks & misc. parts. Already have new camber bolts and sway bar end links and sway bar collars.
Pretty clean for a 92k motor.... Mobile 1 oil & filter changes every 5k since new.

Went for a roll!
Haven't really driven the Black (other than my 2 mile circuit) or washed it for a year. Pulled it out last night, washed it and dried every nook and cranny (we have hard water). I awoke, spray washed and waxed it this AM. Just took it for a quick spin, put some tire shine on, burned some serious sideways rubber!
Looking good bro!

She rides on BFG stock replacement tires, they aren't directional as far as I am aware of since there are zero directional markings on the sidewalls. If I am mistaken, kindly correct me RubberCtyRauder.

OEM are asymmetrical (not directional, unidirectional are a different animal) which can not be safely moved side to side unless dismounted & flipped. They will lose wet traction as the water will fail to be channeled out causing hydroplaning very easy = ooops, you are screwed...

Hmmm... the OEM replacements on her are BFG g-Force T/A KDWS in the stock sizes for both the front and rear MyBlackBeasts.
Obviously I'm not a tire expert :o , but they appear to have the "angled facing" tread pattern of the tires facing forward. Any input would be appreciated.

Most of the replacement tires that most of us have changed to are directional thus why I brought it up.
Directional tires have an arrow on the sidewall stipulating direction of rotation

Pardon my ignorance, but what's a "Dorman fix?" :confused:It came up in one of the LCM recall threads that Ford was using some sort of shortcut fix that was supplied by Dorman rather than just fixing the problem with better parts. Hmmm... interesting Mr. Man. When I had my LCM replaced last year under the recall, I do know that a new LCM was installed, but I'm guessing that it was just a new OEM unit, not some type of "better part." I wonder if one can tell from the marking on the housing?

The work was done at my local Ford Dealer. They have been servicing my MM since 2003. When I asked whether the LCM had been upgraded, I was told yes it was. However, they may have just given me the answer that I wanted to hear. I asked them for the old part; but they said that it had to be returned since it was done under a recall warranty. The LCM had been checked out more than a year ago under the initial extended warranty and it qualified for replacement at that time .... But the parts were back ordered with a long wait. The extended warranty was changed to a safety recall at some point. This time, the part was available. As a safety fix I can't imagine that they would be allowed to put the same defective part in as a fix. Maybe 03mmmonroe can shed some light on this since he is a Ford Warranty rep. :dunno:

No, it's not the doorman fix. This was a separate unit with one relay and transistor that had to be hardwires in. I looked ar it before thay put it in. No plugs what so ever. I've seen the Doorman product. This one looks like it bypasses that one LCM relay just for the headlights. Time will tell how it works out.

Walked passed them again.
Barely a glance.
Sad really- need to make time.
Stupid house remodel :bigcry:
Feel you on the house remodel. Mine has been parked outside for 3 months ... and prior to that 5 days in the last 6 years of ownership. It was not even washed for a month and was covered in dust, SAWDUST!! from all the work.
One of the contractors success criteria was no damage to the Marauder. Well .. failure ... scratches/scuffs on the trunk. Found out today that a good buff and polish will take them all out! :bows::banana::bows::banana::b ows::banana:
Made me feel so good ... can not wait for home remodel to be done, cause then the Marauder gets a full on detail - a line item in our house remodel budget.

Ordered Arnott kit-0002.
Suspension compressor failed after 13 years and Arnott kit comes with new Air Springs and solenoids. Installing whole kit at dealer and getting Lifetime warranty from Arnott. PRICELESS !!!
Had Differential serviced since it has been 30,000 miles since COBRA differential and 31 spline axles were installed.
Tech said Installation is tight and looks factory !!!
Rear was very clean and no metal at all...
Drove like a charm after all the work was done...
Now I need to replace the worn out horns...
Didn't Lincoln have a four note horn set like Cadillac ???
I have a set of PowerStop rotors and pads to install next...

Got my chain tensioners and guides replaced by Zack a couple weeks ago as well as a cooling mod. He gave me a few pointers and I'm running with them. Looking to fix this one up to be a reliable daily that can handle a few laps at a road racing course.
Bled the brakes, no longer in tractor trailer territory for stopping distance. Fluid is now clear and not black. Installed a new PCV tube as the old one was patched together with hose clamps and generic rubber hose. Lots more to do!

Took a rear wheel off, removed caliper and rotor, dismantled parking brake pieces, only to find no way to remove wheel studs to replace with 3" ARP studs.
Put it all back together after trying to devise a way. Axles have to come out.
The ABS sensor bore looked promising, but no, just a bit too small for the stud base to fit.
Really?

It's simple, really. I have 2 children aged 4 and 2. Both are in front facing car seats. I realized that the way the seats are latched into the car they will ruin/damage the leather and deform the foam over time. So I went to the wrecker's yesterday and found a set of poverty seats that weren't trashed and put them in. This way once the kids are old enough not to need the seats, I'll put the original ones back. For now they will be stored away.
It's funny the vinyl is close enough of a match that most people wouldn't notice anyways.

The driver front air bag for a motorhome. They show you deflating it and sliding it between the spring or stuff up the center hole thru the bottom. I tried thru the spring then the hole, I got it in there but now I have to get straight. Before I got them I had the shock off and then ball joint pin and nut off I just hadn't separated it. Then I read the instructions and got my butt kicked.
